Each player has 2 cards that are dealt face down, and a round of betting begins when all players have their hands in the air. After the first round of betting, the flop is revealed with 3 community cards that are all placed face up on the table. There is a second round of betting and it’s important to remember that more players equals more risk, and larger bet sizes mean that you can be made to pay for a bad hand more easily!
On the turn, another card is revealed, and there’s a third round of betting. On the river, the final card is revealed and there’s a fourth and last round of betting. This is the last chance to build a big winning hand before it’s time to showdown!
Once the betting is complete, players reveal their hands and whoever has the best hand wins. If you have a strong hand, it’s worth raising to push out weaker players who might be inclined to fold. It’s also a good idea to bluff once in a while – this can help you win a big pot!
